Frequently Asked Questions for Customers
What is the Designers Downtown Market?
We are an open-air arts and crafts market focusing on Southeast and
Raleigh-based designers and craftspeople. We have been operating
in downtown Raleigh since 2005 (originally operating under the name Crafter's Flea Market).
Our vendors feature unique and eclectic gift items, apparel, jewelry,
gourmet food and much more. Each Market is different, so there is
always something new and exciting to see!
How often is there a Market?
There are 5 Markets per year, March through November. This
can vary due to weather and other special circumstances.
What are your hours?
Usually from 9:00am until 3:00pm, but this can vary depending on the
time of year. Check this site for the specific times for each
Market.
What if it rains?
We always schedule at least one rain date for the Sunday immediately
following the original date. If it rains on both days, please
refer to this site for additional information.
Where is the Market?
Currently, we are located in the parking lot of
Ornamentea at
509 N. West Street, Downtown Raleigh. Ornamentea
is open for business during the Market and often features special sales
and discounts.
Are you affiliated with Ornamentea?
No. While they are kind enough to let us use their parking lot and
the owners are good friends, there is no formal business relationship
between the Market and Ornamentea.
Frequently Asked Questions for Vendors
How do I become a vendor?
Fill out the application and we will be in touch.
Can I sell supplies as well as finished goods? Why,
yes! That is one thing that sets us apart from other markets.
Vendors are encouraged to bring extra supplies to sell,
enabling customers and other vendors to purchase supplies that
they may not be able to find in the area.
Who exhibits at the market? We only allow
designers, artisans and craftspeople who make (or represent)
handcrafted goods.
Can I share a booth, and is there an extra charge?
Yes, you can share a booth. There is no extra charge, but each
vendor must submit an application and make a note of who you'll
be sharing with.
Do you provide tables, tents or chairs? No, we do
not. Because of the nature of the show we are unable to provide
anything for set-up. Vendors are responsible for their own
tents, tables, chairs and signage.
